What Should You Post On Social Media As An Adviser?

Insurance is boring.

It is a hard topic to constantly be sharing quality content that people can actually engage with.

You can only share so many product articles and scare mongering articles from the NZ Herald before people switch off.

This leads to lower engagement and your posts not showing up as much to your audience. It is hard enough to get exposure on a business Facebook page without spending money!

Here are some tips to get you going:

Case Studies & Testimonials

This one came to mind recently after a campaign we ran for an adviser where they got 40 testimonials from clients. That is 40 testimonials that can be seeded through Facebook and LinkedIn.  

If you start posting – I am great…….  People will switch OFF.

Sharing others feedback, builds you up.

The same goes for Case Studies & Stories. Stories get people reading to find out what happened next. Claims are great. Remind people why they pay a premium.

They don’t have to be your stories either. It is about reminding your audience that people actually do claim.

Recently, when traveling, I also saw more and more Fire & General case studies. Fire & General can be a great place to get your foot in the front door with a potential client.

You may not retire on a car or contents policy but I will tell you it will get you more leads than you think.

Find Something Fun

One thing that will never get old is the odd things people insure. My favourite is the “risk of a coconut falling on your head”  🙂

People Love Videos

You will notice that videos start playing sound now with no help (unless you turn it off). People want video.

Facebook have analytics coming out of their ears – they don’t do anything on a song and a prayer.

Don’t be scared to get on Facebook Live, do a video of yourself or use a service like https://sharethis.video to share great content to get people talking to you.
